MEET JENNIFER
MEQUON POSTPARTUM DOULA

A Bit About Me
I often say I became a doula by accident, but it turns out this work is exactly where I’m meant to be. Back in 2011, I found myself naturally supporting friends and family during their postpartum journeys. Eventually, they encouraged me to take the DONA postpartum doula training. By the end of it, I knew this was my calling. In 2017, I took my first official postpartum client. The timing felt right, and everything seemed to fall into place.
Supporting new parents through those early, tender weeks is something I deeply cherish. It’s a joy to see them grow in confidence and realize they are the perfect parents for their own baby. Being part of that journey is truly meaningful to me. I believe that every birthing person deserves compassionate, dedicated care. If someone wants a doula, they should absolutely have one.

I’m here not to give instructions or hand out rigid advice, but to offer gentle guidance, practical options, and encouragement. I invite parents to reframe their concerns around “doing it right” or “fixing problems,” and instead ask, How can we adapt our lives to welcome this new little person into our family with love, flexibility, and presence?
My clients usually don’t need more classes, services, or gear. They need to hear that they’re already doing enough, and they’re doing it beautifully. I offer support through listening, reassurance, and confidence-building. I trust your instincts, and my work is complete when you feel that same trust in yourself.

My background is a little different from many in this field. I hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering and have worked as a mechanical engineer, quality engineer, and technical writer. I've also been a full-time parent and even a part-time belly dancer. Each of these experiences adds depth and perspective to the way I support families.

My Approach
I bring practical support, thoughtful knowledge, and heartfelt care to every family I serve. With hands ready to help, a heart open to love, and a curious mind always seeking wisdom, I walk alongside you during this transformative time.

My role is to help you feel hopeful when things feel hard, brave when things are uncertain, and at ease when life gets overwhelming. When you're well rested and well nourished, I nurture moments of contentment, curiosity, and connection—with your baby, your partner, and yourself.

I’m handy around the house and always happy to pitch in where it’s needed. Whether it’s folding laundry, preparing a meal, or simply holding space for your thoughts and emotions, my support is judgment-free and tailored to your unique needs and values.
I have extensive and ongoing education in lactation and the support of breastfeeding dyads, and I take a science-minded, evidence-based approach to everything I do. I'm an eternal skeptic in the best sense which means I am curious, grounded, and always learning.

One of my greatest joys as a postpartum doula is working in homes with older siblings. Playing with big brothers and sisters is an essential part of my care. I’ve seen how much they light up with the undivided attention of an adult friend, and how parents relax deeply knowing their older children are seen, engaged, and having fun.

I honor your baby, your body, your home, your choices—whatever they may be. My goal is to support you in living the way you want to live.
I encourage gentleness, relaxation (in both body and spirit), and a laid-back approach whenever possible. I believe there’s always room for joy, laughter, and even a little silliness in the daily rhythm of new parenthood.
