On the twelfth day with baby, my doula gave to me,
Confidence in public!
A qualified backup doula!
She entertained my toddler.
She reassured my partner.
She fended off my mother.
She helped me find resources.
She helped me with my feelings.
5 freezer meals!
4 loads of laundry!
3 hours of napping!
She helped me feed my baby.
And she sat down and listened to me.
How will I go grocery shopping? How many diapers should I pack in my bag? Where can I nurse while we're gone? What if my baby screams the whole time?
What if you had a wingman for those first times out in public with baby? Somebody to give you a hand or two. Someone to be there... just in case.
You don't have to go it alone. I'm happy to help! It feels crazy and unmanageable at first. But with a little bit of help the first time out and about, you'll find your stride and be ready to run on your own before you know it. 🛒🏃♀️🏃
The fine print: I know, COVID-19. Ugh. Maybe we can just practice at home lol. One day, you will go out with your baby. And you'll be adept at reading your baby's cues.
